Entrepreneur and Philanthropist Vijay Eswaran

Vijay Eswaran is the Chairman of the QI Group which he co-founded, has the main office in Hong Kong. He is also a Malaysian businessman and a philanthropist. Vijay Eswaran is a graduate of the London School of Economics in the year 1984. He is an author and a speaker as well.

QI Group is a multi-business with businesses in a variety of sectors, which includes travel, media, telecommunications, luxury products, wellness, training, and corporate investments. The QI Group has headquartered Hong Kong but has subsidiary companies in other countries.

In February 2013, Vijay Eswaran was listed in Forbes Asia’s Malaysia’s 50 Richest, and he was at Number 25. In 2012 he was given the New Global Indian (NGI) award for philanthropy and business excellence. The event was held at the Global Indian Business Meet (GIBM) in New York.

Vijay Eswaran started the Vijayaratnam Foundation, which is named after his father. The Foundation work with NGOs both locally and internationally. It is involved in community development and well-being, child mentoring, youth development, women empowerment and special education. Umayal Eswaran, his wife, is the Chairperson of the Vijayaratnam Foundation.

As an author, he has addressed at management and business forums in which he teaches people personal life management philosophy from his habit of starting each day with an hour of silence. The fundamental lesson he advises entrepreneurs is that it is not companies that succeed, but the people that you involve in you endeavors are the ones that makes them realize. The most fundamental to look for in people are determination, loyalty, trust, sincerity and the ability to work hard.
