Dr. Saad Saad is a successful Palestinian physician who is currently on advocacy to help people with medical needs. He came from a family of professionals who produced surgeons, engineers, and an educator. He and his family would move from one place to another so that they can live their lives in peace. When he was still in high school, his family was living in Kuwait. He knew back then that he would become an engineer just like his older brothers, but because he thought that the weather in Kuwait is hot, he decided to choose another profession that would make him stay inside an air-conditioned room. He, later on, convinced himself that he would want to become a surgeon instead. He told his parents about his decision, and they permitted him to become what he wanted. He had to study at a local university where he would be obtaining his pre-medical degree, and later on, he would travel to Egypt to study for his medical degree.
He attended the Cairo University in Egypt, and he focused on studying hard. His determination to finish his studies resulted in him being ranked as the second-best in class, and he graduated with a lot of honors and recognition. After graduating from Cairo University, he decided to move to different countries that would advance his medical career. He went to the United Kingdom to undergo an internship program. He also had to go to Lebanon to take up an ECFMG examination, and after passing the exams, he was permitted to go to the United States to train. His life in the United States revolves around expanding his knowledge in medicine, and after extensive training and studying, he managed to get certifications for general surgery and pediatric surgery.
Dr. Saad Saad met several people who would change his life during his stay in the United States. One of these people is Dr. H. Biemann Othersen, whom he considered as a close friend and mentor. It was him who told Dr. Saad Saad that he should stay kind and humble and that he should treat everyone regardless of their background because doctors have sworn to help anyone who is in need. The heartfelt messages that he received from Dr. H. Biemann encouraged Dr. Saad Saad to go back to Palestine and initiate medical missions for the people living in the region.
Dr. Saad Saad also became a surgeon-in-chief during his career as a doctor, and he would go to Jerusalem and other areas just to provide medical assistance. Today, he already retired from his post, but he would continue with his advocacy to provide medical assistance to those who cannot afford it.
