Doe Deere’s Success Story With Her Own Company, Lime Crime Cosmetics

Lime Crime Cosmetics was created by Doe Deere. She has a love for vibrant colors that match her whimsical lifestyle and her attire. She is not the type that settles for normal, instead her clothing and makeup match that wonderfully bright personality. Doe Deere’s dream to own her own cosmetic company came to life in 2008. The companies name, Lime Crime, came from Deere’s favorite color. Her vision and goals were endless and she set out to make each one a reality. Born in Russia, and raised in New York, Doe Deere’s fan base is international.

 

Doe Deere’s inspiration came from the lack of “wow” colors available in eye shadows, nail polishes, and lipsticks. She didn’t want her cosmetic line to be like the norm and just conceal or look natural. Instead she wanted the wow factor in all 3 areas. Every day consist of meetings with her creative director and office personnel. She wants to be sure that all her employees are on the same page as she is. That keeps questions down to a minimum and the vision of the company moving forward. Deere rarely gets to sit down and often answers messages and emails on the go. Once meetings are done, creating new products in the lab with the chemist is how she spends the rest of her day.

 

All of Lime Crime Cosmetics are animal friendly. She is an avid animal right’s supporter and also donates to no kill shelters regularly. She has 3 cats of her own and 2 of them are rescues. So animals hold a special place in her heart. Instead of testing of products on them, she test them on herself. This gives her that piece of mind that her products are the best of the best. The best way to guarantee this is by trying each product on herself.

 

Doe Deere speaks publicly to young, aspiring entrepreneurs. She encourages them to chase their dreams and educate them so that they know where to start and what steps to take to become successful. She leans towards female owned businesses and wants those that are serious in their passion to follow through. She leaves the line of communication open for any and all to ask her questions and seek business advice.

 

Her biggest supporter and influence is her husband Mark. They started out about 16 years ago in a rock band. Since then they have been inseparable. He runs the company by her side and to her, he is the best human she has ever met and she feels lucky that she has him in her corner.
